DIF VIRTUAL LEARNING!

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

PROGRAM FEATURES

Traditionally, we’ve run programming for elementary and middle schools in the Chicagoland area. In recognition that safety demands social distancing, we have launched our virtual learning classes!

While this is an adjustment, it’s also an exciting opportunity: for the first time, we are able to offer programming to other cities, states, and even countries.

Our DIF Virtual Classroom is our signature virtual program.  This program will build on itself; each class will expand on the previous class so students are encouraged to "attend" every session. Given the sequential nature, this program will run with the same teacher and student group for its entirety.

Personalized Learning Program

The PPL Program provides 12 one-on-one sessions (12 hours) between one student and one teacher. This program is entirely customized tutoring based on the needs of the individual child. Parents fill out a brief survey that highlights focus areas for the student and then Debate it Forward creates a custom curriculum to reinforce these skills in the best way for the particular student.

Results

Our Virtual Learning programs have been incredibly successful. Check out some of our favorite statistics:

  • We have a 95% retention rate among our programs

  • Parents on average rated it a 9.1/10

  • The modal score of student rating was 10/10

One parent said, "The activities are just really fun AND educational. It has been such a treasure during this time to hear [Max] laughing and chattering. It's helped me relax and concentrate on my work to know that he's well taken-care of. Fantastic. Small class size is key on Zoom. I've noticed that in the larger class groups from his online schooling, he doesn't talk nearly as much..."

Our DIF Private Group Classes are offered to a set of students who want to take programming together. The class will be closed to the public and will only include students from the particular group. We offer these in 6, or 12 group classes, depending on group choice.

NOW ANNOUNCING...THE VIRTUAL SCHOOL YEAR!

For the past five months, we’ve been running high-level, engaging virtual debate programs for all of our DIF kiddos and have seen tons of growth in students' confidence, critical thinking, and public speaking skills. With so much uncertainty across school districts and in an abundance of care, we have made the decision to continue our virtual classrooms into the coming school year.

Debate it Forward virtual programming will provide consistency, enrichment, and fun to students while giving you a break from being a worker and care-taker. With extracurricular and enrichment opportunities dwindling in the coming year, make sure that to fill that hole with Debate it Forward!
